All Lurahs In Jakarta Are Gathered, Anies Asked Social Distancing To Be Tightened Up To RT

JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan gathered his staff to discuss the handling of the corona virus or COVID-19 in his area. There were 6 mayors, 44 sub-districts, 267 urban village heads who attended this meeting.

He directed his staff to reduce community interaction in their respective areas. The goal is that transmission of the virus can be inhibited.

"We in Jakarta must anticipate all possibilities. But the stage at this stage is that we reduce interactions. In this way, we can prevent transmission," said Anies at the Education Office, South Jakarta, Thursday, March 19.

Anies admitted that he could not only officials from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government to move to prevent the transmission of the virus originating from China. Therefore, Anies instructed the village heads to collect their respective RT and RW.

To residents, RT and RW must be aware of the risk of transmission of the corona virus. "This means that there must be a significant reduction in association activities in the village environment. Postpone activities that involve gathering large numbers of people, until the transmission of COVID-19 is controlled," said Anies.

Anies believes that this preventive action at the grassroots level can be effective. This is because residents get a direct explanation about the importance of implementing social distancing or maintaining distance and reducing interactions.

For information, Jakarta is the province with the most positive corona virus patients in Indonesia. As of today at 07.00 WIB, positive cases of COVID-19 in Jakarta have reached 208 cases. These positive cases are spread across 124 urban village points. Then, there were 108 patients who were treated, 13 who had recovered, 17 people died, and 70 people went into self-isolation.
