Vice President Ma'ruf Amin: Indonesia Has Close Relations With Slovakia From The History Side To Trade Cooperation

JAKARTA - Indonesian Vice President Ma'ruf Amin revealed that Indonesia has a close relationship with Slovakia, from a historical perspective to trade cooperation.

On the sidelines of his working visit to Bratislava, Slovakia, Saturday, November 25 local time, Vice President Ma'ruf said that since the era of the first President of the Republic of Indonesia Soekarno, Indonesia's relationship has been closely related to Czecha, which is a country from Slovakia. Czecho in 1993 was then divided into two sovereign countries, namely Slovakia and the Czech Republic.

"With Indonesia, this country is indeed very close, still a Czech country, Bung Karno's era, right," said Ma'ruf, quoted from Antara.

The Vice President's working visit to Slovakia will continue on Sunday, November 26 local time with the National Dialogue agenda attended by Indonesian citizens in Bratislava and its surroundings.

In addition, the Vice President is also scheduled to meet business people in the halal industry, and meet with the ranks of the Slovak Islamic Foundation.

Afterwards, on Monday 27 November, Vice President Ma'ruf is scheduled to hold a meeting with Slovak President Zuzana Badminton and will also meet with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Affairs of the Republic of Slovakia Denisa Sakova.

According to Ma'ruf, Indonesia and Slovakia's relations are currently well established, which are characterized by trade relations. Indonesia, said Ma'ruf, exports a lot of coffee, tea, and spare parts.

In addition, Slovakia is also an industrial country such as the motor vehicle industry and weapons.

"So from us, so the trade relationship is quite large," said Ma'ruf.

Data "Satudata" of the Ministry of Trade noted that Indonesia and Slovakia's total trade averaged 6.5 percent annually. In 2022, the total trade between the two countries reached USD 65.4 million, with Indonesia's surplus of USD 12.9 million.
