JAKARTA - Three aid trucks arrived in the northern Gaza Strip on Friday. These trucks are the first batch of aid trucks for the northern part of the Palestinian territory since the outbreak of the conflict on October 7.

"Three trucks full of humanitarian aid arrived in Gaza City and northern Gaza Friday afternoon," said a source quoted by Antara.

The aid trucks were part of a four-day humanitarian pause that included a prisoner exchange and the entry of aid into Gaza.

Gaza border authorities said 150 aid trucks had been allowed to enter the Palestinian enclave on Friday, via the Egypt-Gaza border crossing in Rafah.

The Israeli military said it had allowed eight fuel trucks to pass through the Rafah border as part of a humanitarian pause agreement.

The deal allows 200 aid trucks and four fuel trucks a day to enter the entire Gaza Strip, the Hamas resistance group said.

During the 16 years of Israeli blockade, 500 trucks of goods, including 45 trucks of fuel, entered Gaza every day.

However, everything stopped since fighting broke out on October 7, leaving Gaza short of basic supplies, including much-needed fuel for hospitals.

Israel and Hamas exchanged 24 Israelis and foreigners for 39 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons on Friday, the first day of the humanitarian pause. Exchanges were carried out in groups over four days.

Israel launched a major military attack on the Gaza Strip  after being attacked by Hamas last month, killing at least 14,854 Palestinians, including 6,150 children and more than 4,000 women.

The death toll on the Israeli side reached 1,200 people.
