West Java Acting Governor Asks Satpol PP Synergize With Bawaslu To Enforce 2024 Election Rules

JAKARTA - Acting Governor of West Java Beyvi Machmudin asked the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) to synergize with various parties in carrying out their duties and roles in various stages of the 2024 General Election.

"Kami tahu ini tugas yang berat, kami berharap para kepala Satpol PP untuk tetap menegakkan aturan bekerja sama dengan Bawaslu untuk tidak perlu takut," kata Bey dalam Apple Konsolidasi dan Rakor Kasatpol PP se-Jabar dalam Optimalisasi Penegakan hukum dana Bagi Hasil Excise Hasil Tobacco (DBH-CHT) dan Cipta Trantibum Pemilu 2024 di Cirebon, Jawa Barat dilansir ANTARA, Jumat, 24 November.

According to Bey, the need for its main synergy in carrying out joint patrols to prevent and take action against all potential violations, especially at the important stages of election, with the aim of creating safe and conducive conditions.

Bey also reminded regarding the role of Satpol PP in the 2024 Simultaneous Election so that the use of regional property assets and the installation of campaign props (APK) must be ensured in accordance with applicable regulations.

"Don't be afraid, either insinuated on social media or whatever, the important thing is that we enforce the rules in accordance with applicable regulations," said Bey.

According to Bey, with solid cooperation and periodic monitoring efforts, the potential for disturbances of peace and public order (trantibum) during the 2024 General Election can be detected and overcome before scaling becomes large.

"A strong synergy, good coordination and awareness of the importance of maintaining a transcription condition will be the foundation for the success of elections that are just and democratic," said Bey.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) of West Java Province, Ade Afriandy, said that this synergy was indeed needed considering the need for elections in context in West Java to be anticipated with around 35 million voters in 27 districts and cities.

"Regarding the election implementation, it needs to be anticipated because West Java has a fixed voter list of around 35 million voters spread across 27 districts and cities, 627 sub-districts, 5,311 villages, 645 urban villages and 140,457 polling stations," said Ade Afriandy.
