KAI Daop Semarang Prepares 33 Trains For Christmas-New Year Holidays

PT KAI Daop 4 Semarang, Central Java, has prepared 33 trains to serve transportation during the Christmas and New Year 2024 holidays. Public Relations Manager of PT KAI Daop 4 Semarang Franoto said the Christmas and year-end transit trains which will start operating from December 21, 2023 to January 7, 2024, consist of 29 long-distance trains and 4 local trains. According to him, the volume of passengers who will use trains during the Christmas and New Year holidays from various stations in the Daop Semarang area this time is estimated to reach 326,042 people. "It is estimated that there will be an increase of around 16 percent compared to the same period last year," he said in a press release in Semarang, Antara, Friday, November 24. As for the favorite routes during this year's end of holidays, he continued, including from Semarang to Jakarta and Surabaya. There are still quite a lot of train tickets for the Christmas and New Year holidays. To date, the train occupancy rate for holiday transportation has only been filled with around 10.percent. This number, he continued, is expected to continue to increase.

Therefore, he appealed to prospective passengers to plan their trip well. Train tickets, he continued, can be purchased 45 days before departure.
