JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri has not been detained even though he has been a suspect in the alleged extortion case against former Agriculture Minister Syahrul Yasin Limpo. Polda Metro Jaya said that the investigators would later determine this matter.

"Regarding the investigators' efforts, it is related to the need for investigation. Later we will update the next one to colleagues," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak, to reporters, Wednesday, November 22.

Although they have not decided on the matter of detention, investigators already have plans for the follow-up to the handling of the case, one of which is examining Firli Bahuri as a suspect.

However, it was not conveyed about the time. It is only said that the examination is a follow-up to the results of the case title which decided that KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri was a suspect.

"Conducting an examination of FB's brother as Chairman of the Indonesian KPK in his capacity as a suspect in the alleged corruption crime that is currently being investigated," he said.

Not only Firli Bahuri, investigators will also ask for information from other witnesses. The examination was to complete the case file.

"Conducting case filings and coordinating and sending case files to the Public Prosecutor at the DKI Jakarta Prosecutor's Office," said Ade.

Firli Bahuri was named a suspect based on the results of the case title conducted on Wednesday, November 22, afternoon.

In this case, Firli was charged with Article 12e, 12B or Article 11 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the eradication of corruption in conjunction with Article 65 of the Criminal Code. Thus, it is threatened with life imprisonment.
