219 Rohingya Immigrants Arriving In Aceh Again, Some Swimming Towards The Coastal Lips

ACEH - A total of 219 Rohingya immigrants have landed on the coast of Aceh. This time they stopped at the Ujong Kareung beach area, Sukajaya District, Sabang City. "The number of Rohingya immigrants who took to the beach was 219 people, their ship was about 100 meters from the beach," said Sukajaya sub-district head Syahrial when confirmed from Banda Aceh, Antara, Wednesday, November 22. The total of 219 refugees in Sabang is the sixth wave to come to Aceh in the last two weeks of November 2023. The Rohingya immigrants landed on Ujong Kareung beach on Tuesday night at around 23.00 WIB. They swam from the boat to the beach. Currently, said Syahrial, the refugees are still on the beach, not being moved first because there has been no decision whether they are accepted or not. "The public refuses, the government has not yet made a decision, coordination is still being carried out, including with the UNHCR," he said.
