The Ministry Of Health Facilitates The Verification Process Of Indonesian Doctors In Germany

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) has made it easier for the verification process of doctors and specialists from Indonesia who are studying and working in Germany if they want to return and serve in the country.

This policy was marked by the existence of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Health and the Bundesnarztekammer or the German Medical Consil on cooperation in the field of exchange and mutual understanding regarding the medical education system in Indonesia and Germany, which was carried out between the Director General of Health Workers at the Ministry of Health Arianti Anaya and the President of BundesmenKrztekammerKlaus Reinhardt witnessed by the Indonesian Ambassador to Germany Arif Havas Oegroseno along with a number of administrators of the German Indonesian Association of Experts and Bachelors (IASI Germany).

"Untuk proses kembali dan bekerja di Indonesia kami perlu validasi data sekolah dimana, bekerja mana, dan berapa lama. Melalui kerja sama dengan Bundesgetekemammer, proses validasi dan administrasi bisa lebih singkat," kata Arianti dilansir ANTARA, Selasa, 21 November.

Arianti emphasized that this memorandum of understanding is for the benefit of Indonesia, where her party wants to attract Indonesian doctors who have finished studying and working in Germany, to return to their homeland.

The chairman of IASI Germany, Dr. Prasti Polmarius, also expressed his joy at the signing of this memorandum of understanding.

"The medical system in Germany adheres to a hospital based, while Indonesia adheres to a conversion based. Actually, this is a problem that is not too big, where there must be communication between the licensing party for German doctors and the Indonesian government, and this must be bridged," said Prasti.

Prasti explained that the initial process of forming the memorandum of understanding began with a webinar on Indonesia's health diaspora meeting in America and Europe in April 2022.

Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin, who was also present, according to Prasti, persuaded Indonesian doctors who worked abroad to return to their homeland.

The Minister of Health also promised that his party would make the verification process easier.

He emphasized that this was a request from President Joko Widodo. Quoting the Minister of Health's statement, "We will make it easier and clarify the adaptation process for doctors who enter from abroad," he said.
