Emotions Billed By Debt, Mother In Sukabumi Kills Moneylender

SUKABUMI - Personnel from the Sukabumi City Police Investigation and Criminal Unit (Satreskrim) arrested a young mother on Jalan Lio Santa, Sukabumi City, West Java for allegedly killing a moneylender.

"We arrested the suspect at his house in RT 03, RW 01, Cikondang Village, Citamiang District in the early hours of Saturday," said Sukabumi Police Chief AKBP Ari Setyawan Wibowo, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, November 18.

According to Ari, the murder case allegedly committed by PS to RS (37), which is a woman who collects debts, began on Monday, last week at around 11.30 WIB.

Where the victim at that time came to the suspect's house to collect debts. Because PS did not have the money to pay his debt plus the hospital continued to insist that the suspect pay the debt so that a verbal altercation ensued and ended in a fight.

Inside the suspect's house, PS had pushed the hospital into the room until it fell. The suspect, who is a housewife, darked his eyes and was desperate to paralyze the victim until he was half unconscious.

Seeing the condition of the victim who had started to be helpless, PS, who did not hold back his emotions, then took a iron rod behind his house which was then beaten to the head of the victim to death.

After the victim died, the suspect then wrapped the body of the hospital in a Hello Kitty patterned seprei cloth. The mother of three who was confused by the whereabouts of the body, then called her biggest child to help dispose of the victim's body.

The next day, the victim's child then rented a pickup truck to take the victim's body and throw it into the Cipelang River which is not far from the suspect's house.

Ari said this case was revealed after a resident reported the loss of his family to the Sukabumi City Police, which was then investigated and information on the discovery of the body in the Cipelang River.

Furthermore, the Sukabumi City Police Satreskrim developed this case and found information that led to the suspect who then arrested PS at his home on Jalan Liosanta.

"The suspect's motive was to kill the victim because of a debt problem where PS had a debt of Rp. 3.5 million to the victim, then it was suspected that the victim's words offended the suspect, resulting in a fight that led to murder," he added.

Ari said that until now his party was still developing the case, apart from detaining PS, the police also confiscated evidence of 30 cm long iron which was allegedly used by the suspect to kill the victim.

To the suspect, investigators from the Sukabumi City Police Satreskrim applied Article 338 of the Criminal Code on Murder with the threat of imprisonment for 20 years, life or death. Then Article 351 paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code concerning persecution that causes death with the threat of imprisonment for a maximum of seven years.
