Australian Tourists Become Converts In Aceh After Reading The Jisah Of The Prophet

BANDA ACEH - An Australian tourist Johnny Harry Preston (65) officially embraced Islam after saying two sentences of creed at the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque, because he was inspired after reading a book about the story of Rasulullah Shalallaahu Alaihi Wasmen (SAW).

"The book is very interesting, there is a sentence to always do good to everyone like you and the Prophet also people who like to give and it really inspires me," said Johnny, in Banda Aceh as reported by ANTARA, Friday, November 18.

Jhonny revealed that he was confident that he would convert to Islam after five years ago reading a book about the life of the Prophet Muhammad. One of the inspiring is the character of the Prophet who likes to do good and give charity.

In addition, his belief in Islam was also inspired by the good and friendly attitude that was obtained from Acehnese during his three-week stay in the Aceh Besar sea area.

"I feel comfortable with Acehnese and want to be part of Acehnese. The surfers I meet here are also Muslims," he said.

After saying the creed guided by the Head of the Institutional Development and Prosperity of the Baiturrahman Tengku Mosque, Iskandar and witnessed by religious leaders, he finally changed his name to Jhonny Yusuf.

"I chose Yusuf's name because he was inspired by the high and handsome Prophet Yusuf," he said.

Jhonny also said that in the near future he would immediately go to Morocco to study Islamic knowledge and study Al-Quran and Arabic.

Meanwhile, the Kuala Babah Tourism Beach Manager in Aceh Besar, Teuku Ayatullah Bani Baeit, said the foreigner was advised by him on Tuesday (14/11) at Gampong Mon Ikeun, Babah Kuala Beach, Lampuuk, Aceh Besar.

"At the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque, it is rechased. Jhonny is a susurfing coach and has lived in Aceh for three weeks. He came to Aceh because he was interested in the waves on the Aceh beach," said Ayatullah.
