JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) performed Friday prayers, in San Francisco, United States, after attending APEC Economic Leaders Retreat (APEC Summit)

President Jokowi performed Friday prayers with the entourage and staff of the Indonesian Consulate General (KJRI) San Francisco, the Indonesian Consulate General in Los Angeles, the Indonesian Consulate General in Chicago and the Indonesian people in San Francisco, Friday, United States time, as quoted from the statement from the Press Bureau of the Presidential Secretariat, Saturday, November 18.

Before performing the congregational Friday prayers, it appears that President Jokowi first performs the sunnah prayer.

Acting as imam was H. Mahmudin Nur Al Gozaly, and acting as a preacher on that occasion was H. Fadhly Ahmad who delivered a sermon with the theme "The Importance of Tolerance in Islam".

In his sermon, it was conveyed that Islam teaches to build a society established on the basis of respect for human rights.

"Islam is a religion that is very concerned with tolerance by continuing to respect diversity and fighting all forms of discrimination on the basis of differences," said Khatib.

It appears that the congregation in the prayers include the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto and the Chairman of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) Indonesia Anindya Bakrie.

In APEC Economic Leaders Retret, President Jokowi urged APEC leaders to act to stop the war, speed up the ceasefire, and ensure humanitarian aid for Gazans, Palestine can be delivered without a hitch.

Jokowi considered that currently, let alone the right to build, the right to life for the Gazan people was not respected.
