Held Raids, Officers Confiscate Cooking Equipment From The Room Of Prisoners At Bukittinggi Prison

The Bukittinggi Penitentiary (Lapas) held a raid on the residential rooms of prisoners or correctional inmates to ensure zero commitment to the use of cell phones, extortion and drugs.

The head of the Bukittinggi Prison, Herdianto, said the joint raid involved the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) and the TNI-Polri. He said urine tests were carried out on residents of the Bukittinggi prison inmates.

During the raid, his party dispatched 40 personnel by conducting searches in each residential room.

"We carry out this task persuasively to create a conducive atmosphere during searches, confiscate all items that are not allowed in prisons but remain humane," he said in Bukittinggi, West Sumatra (West Sumatra), Thursday, November 16, which was confiscated by Antara.

From the results of the search, he said, officers disciplined prohibited objects in the form of illegal cables, cooking utensils and other goods to immediately collect data and destroy them. After searching the residential rooms, followed by a random urine test of 30 samples of inmates with all negative results.

"We affirm our commitment to eradicating the circulation and use of cellphones, illegal levies and drugs in Bukittinggi Prison by inviting all law enforcement officers to contribute to these efforts," he said.
