Gibran Ensures Surakarta City Government Immediately Use UAE Funds To Continue Development

SOLO - The Surakarta City Government (Pemkot) immediately used grant funds from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Government to continue the construction of a number of public spaces in Solo, Central Java. Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka said a number of developments would soon be executed using the funds. "It is being followed up, when it is clear (clear) everything will be executed immediately, especially the places that we prioritize," he said in Solo, Antara, Friday, November 10. In addition to infrastructure development, the funds will also be used for handling stunting cases, which are still in Solo. Meanwhile, regarding the possibility of using funds as well as for Sriwedari's revitalization, according to him, it will not be carried out considering the status of the land until now it is not clear. "As for the construction of the mosque (the continuation of the construction of the Sriwedari Mosque, ed.) I will return it to the mosque committee," he also said. In this case, the government can only act when the status of Sriwedari land ownership is clear. "For the execution, I have to consult with the prosecutor's office. We cannot do things that are not in accordance with the rules," said Gibran again.

Previously, the City of Surakarta received a grant of Rp230 billion from the UAE. Most of the funds will be used for infrastructure development in Solo.
