Excess Electricity, Rented House In Cakung Burns, One Person Injures

JAKARTA - Due to an excess of electrical power in refrigerator-type cooling machines, a two-story rented house in the Milling Village, Jalan Kali Buaran, Milling, Cakung, East Jakarta, caught fire, Wednesday, November 1.

As a result of the incident, one resident named Hari, the owner of the house, suffered burns.

"The victim suffered burns. The victim is the owner of the house," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman, Wednesday, November 1.

The burned area is about 60 square meters. The owner suffered a loss of Rp. 75 million due to the fire that scorched his house.

"The cause of the fire was an electrical short circuit. There was an overload in the refrigerator," he said.

The fire was extinguished only after 7 fire engines were deployed to the location.

"Currently the fire has been extinguished. One person suffered burns, while 8 families from 17 people were saved," he said.

The victim first noticed the fire incident, as well as the owner of the house. Prior to the fire incident, the victim was checking the kitchen. But what a surprise when the victim saw the fire.

"It turned out that the refrigerator was already on fire and the fire was getting bigger," he said.
