PAPUA - Head of Public Relations of the Papua Police, Kombes Ignatius Benny Ady Prabowo, said the Puncak Jaya Police were still investigating the shooting that killed Germanyto Simanjuntak (35) on Tuesday, November 31 evening. The shooting took place in front of the victim's kiosk in Pruleme Village, Mulia District, Puncak Jaya Regency, Central Papua. "Until now, it is not known who or which group was the perpetrator of the shooting that occurred in Pruleme," said Benny in Jayapura, Antara, Wednesday, November 1. From the testimony of the victim's wife, at around 18.50 WIT, an unknown person knocked on the victim's stall, which was closed at that time and wanted to buy cigarettes. At that time the victim and the witness were having dinner so that after hearing the beating, the victim opened the door and the perpetrator immediately pointed a gun at the victim who then fired it. "As a result of the shooting, the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the right jaw, and the perpetrator immediately fled," explained Benny. To avoid a repeat of the shooting incident, the Puncak Jaya Police intensified patrols around Mulia City. The victim's body was evacuated to Jayapura.

The distance between Mulia City and Pruleme is about 10 minutes of travel.
