Dismissing The Issue Of Gibran's Candidacy Due To Head Of Political Party KIM Arrested In Case, PAN: Just Jogeted

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairperson of the PAN DPP Viva Yoga Mauladi dismissed rumors of pressure on the Advanced Indonesia Coalition in the nomination of Gibran Rakabuming Raka as a potential vice presidential candidate accompanying Prabowo Subianto.

"If there are rumors or issues that the leadership of the coalition party in KIM is being held hostage by the case so that it is not independent and full of pressure, then they are dancing," said Viva in his statement, Monday, October 30, which was confiscated by Antara.

According to him, the nomination of President Joko Widodo's eldest son as a candidate for vice president in the 2024 election is a rational and objective choice.

"Mas Gibran's nomination is based on love, not due to coercion, pressure, and intimidation from anyone and from any party. This is a rational and objective choice," he said.

Viva also mentioned that Gibran's candidacy as the prospective vice presidential candidate for KIM was the result of a decision that was taken amicably and based on the principle of deliberation and consensus, as well as collegial collectives.

"The determination of Mas Gibran's name is an objective solution and a collective need of all political parties in the Advanced Indonesia Coalition. The orientation is to win the presidential election. Furthermore, in order to continue the current government development program while carrying out the transformation in line with the dynamics of the community," he said.

For this reason, he emphasized that KIM's solidity was despite the various issues that hit. "The political party in KIM has a high sense of solidity and spirit of vocation. It will not be divided even if a hurricane strikes or a storm shakes KIM's cohesiveness," he said.

Finally, Viva invited parties who contested the 2024 General Election to color the democratic party with fighting ideas, thoughts, and ideas.

"Make elections a means of sovereignty for the people who are smart, healthy, and encouraging," he said.

As is known, the General Elections Commission (KPU) has received registrations for three pairs of candidates for presidential and vice-presidential candidates for the 2024 General Election, namely Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin, Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD, and Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka.

The Anies-Cak Imin pair was promoted by the NasDem Party, PKB, PKS and the Ummat Party.

The pair Ganjar-Mahfud were promoted by PDIP, PPP, Perindo and Hanura.

Meanwhile, the Prabowo-Gibran pair were promoted by Gerindra, Golkar, PAN, Democratic Party, PBB, Gelora Party, Garuda Party, and PSI, as well as the Prima Party which did not qualify to participate in the 2024 General Election.
