Cak Imin Responses To The Prabowo-Gibran Program: Abadi Islamic Boarding School Funds Have Entered The 2023-2024 Budget

JAKARTA - The vice presidential candidate (cawapres) for the coalition for Change Muhaimin Iskandar said that pesantren's endowment funds have been fought for since 2021.

"Yes, actually, we have struggled from two years ago," said Muhaimin when met after the opening of the DPD Regional Coordination Meeting (Rakorda) of the DKI Jakarta Muhammadiyah Student Association (IMM) at the Da'wah Muhammadiyah building, Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Friday, October 27.

The general chairman of the National Awakening Party (PKB) explained that the budget for the pesantren endowment fund had been agreed upon by the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani as a continuation of Law Number 18 of 2019 concerning Islamic Boarding Schools (UU Pesantren).

"Danallah Mrs. Sri Mulyani said it had been decided. For the 2023-2024 fiscal year, the pesantren's endowment fund is indeed part of the continuation of the Islamic Boarding School Law," said Muhaimin.

The eternal funds for the pesantren, added the deputy chairman of the DPR, are already underway. He hopes that the amount of funds disbursed will increase for the following years.

"(The pesantren endowment fund) It's already running, just a larger amount is needed," he said.

Muhaimin said this was to respond to the statement that the vice presidential candidate for the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM) Gibran Rakabuming Raka said that the pesantren's endowment fund was a flagship program for the candidate for Prabowo-Gibranapabila to win the 2024 election.

During a speech at the Indonesia Arena, Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, Wednesday (25/10), Gibran said Indonesia needed a reliable, resilient, and nationally committed young generation. The Mayor of Surakarta also reminded him not to forget the students.

Therefore, Gibran said the endowment fund program would be used as a flagship program which is a mandate of Law Number 18 of 2019 concerning Islamic Boarding Schools.

The eldest son of President Joko Widodo also revealed several other flagship programs, Prabowo-Gibran, such as continuing and perfecting ongoing development programs, and adding creditstart-upmillennial programs, Healthy Indonesia Cards for the Elderly (KIS Elderly), to Healthy Children's Cards to prevent stunting.
