TANJUNG SELOR - Dozens of community leaders who are members of the North Kalimantan (Kaltara) Dayak Kenyah Customary Institution (LADK) and the Kaltara Customary Council (DAD) visited the DPRD building.
The community from the interior of the Kayan River, Bulungan Regency, conveyed demands regarding the improvement of road and bridge infrastructure, including the Tanjung Palas-Long Lejuh road access (right side of the Kayan River)- Peso District.
Long Bia - Long Yin road access, Long Disposal - Long Pelban Road and the construction of a bridge on the Nyelung River, as well as hoarding downstream of the Mara Satu bridge in Tanjung Palas Barat.
This was revealed by the head of the North Kalimantan LDAK, Ingkong Ala during a hearing (RDP) at the Kaltara DPRD building.
"In addition, the issue of land status also often makes people confused and afraid when working on it," said Inkong Ala, Monday, October 23.
He emphasized that the condition of access roads on the right and left sides to the upstream areas of the Kayan River needs the attention of the government. Moreover, the Bulungan district government (Pemkab) has limited budget for the construction of the road.
"This is a very important road access for residents of the upstream interior of the Kayan River. For that, we convey through the RDP with this DPRD. At the same time, we are looking for a solution to how it can be built, can share or through the bankeu (financial assistance). Residents really hope for improvement," said the man who also serves as Deputy Regent of Bulungan.
He hopes that the repair and construction of the roads and bridges will be realized in the upcoming 2024 APBD.
"Residents really hope that road access to the upstream area of the Kayan River can be prioritized in 2024," he said.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the Kaltara DPRD, Albertus Stefanus Marianus, said that his party would oversee the proposal of the local residents so that they could be prioritized in the 2024 APBD.
"These remote residents really hope that the existing road accessibility will be connected, such as in Peso District, there are villages that have not been accommodated, such as Long Pelban," explained Albertus.
There are 3 choices of roads that can be done by the Kaltara Provincial Government together with the Bulungan Regency Government.
"Essentially, there is access that can be used by the community to Long Pelban, besides that there is a road to Long Lian and Long Disposal with a distance of 21 kilometers and 17 kilometers," he explained.
Albertus said that currently some of the road accesses already exist and some of them are owned by the company.
"We ask the provincial government so that when there is a budget we can focus on opening the road first. The existing roads just need to be repaired, such as the roads from Bhayangkara, namely Long Beluah Village, Tanjung Palas Barat District to Long Lejuh, which may be carried out in the form of cleaning," he concluded.
