Left Behind By Gibran To Become Prabowo's Vice Presidential Candidate, Surakarta Mayor Talks About Program Sustainability

Surakarta Deputy Mayor Teguh Prakosa said the vision and mission of Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka must be completed even though he will run for the 2024 Presidential Election contestation.

"So if the mayor is unable to or nominate a higher one, the vision and mission must be completed," he said in Solo, Central Java, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, October 23.

According to him, in the current condition there is no new vision and mission that then invalidates the initial vision and mission when he served as Mayor of Surakarta.

"There is no new vision and mission because this is in one package that must be completed until the end of the positions of mayor and deputy mayor," he said.

Regarding the continuation of the development program carried out by Gibran, according to him, in any situation the development must continue.

"In any position, development must take place, it must continue. It cannot only be done in that policy, it cannot stop at any time. The policy is part of the mayor's vision and mission which must be completed in the period," he said.

Asked about the readiness of the deputy mayor to replace his position if Gibran finally resigned from the Mayor of Surakarta, he said, following the applicable rules.

"Nothing is ready and not ready. This means that it is already, whether you want to find a new representative, right? It means that the regulations are clear," he said.

However, he admitted, until now there has been no instruction he received.

"I don't know any instructions yet. I'll ask him directly so that he doesn't get confused because his position is still the mayor. So don't make assumptions until there is a statement from him," he said.
