JAKARTA - Golkar Party Chairman Airlangga Hartarto said communication with the PDI-P (PDIP) was still smooth after the Forward Indonesia Coalition (KIM) brought PDIP cadre Gibran Rakabuming Raka as a candidate for vice president (readwapres) accompanying Prabowo Subianto. When it was reconfirmed whether Gibran Rakabuming Raka had moved to the Golkar Party and already had a Golkar Membership Card (KTA), Airlangga answered jokingly. "“KTP already," he said. Airlangga then emphasized Gibran's candidacy as a candidate to accompany Prabowo Subianto, supported by the entire party of KIM members. Regarding communication with PDIP in the midst of the Gibran issue of joining Golkar, Airlangga again only answered "Communication with PDIP is smooth," Airlangga emphasized that the important thing from KIM at this time is the registration process for the presidential and vice presidential candidates Prabowo and Girban which are planned to be held on October 25, 2023. Currently, there are 575 seats in parliament so that pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election must have at least 115 seats in the DPR RI. In addition, candidate pairs can also be promoted by political parties or a combination of political parties participating in the 2019 Election with a total valid vote acquisition of at least 34,992,703 votes.
