Gibran Has Says Goodbye To Puan For Participating In The Presidential Election

Chairman of the PDI-P DPP Puan Maharani said party cadres as well as Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka had told him he wanted to take part in the 2024 presidential election contest.

"Last night (Friday, 20/10), (I) met Mas Gibran and Mas Gibran to convey that there is a possibility that he will participate in the presidential election contest (2024)," said Puan as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, October 21.

However, Puan was reluctant to explain further because there had been no definite decision regarding the nomination of President Jokowi's eldest son as a candidate for vice president (cawapres) in the 2024 presidential election.

"What I know is that Mas Gibran has just received a recommendation from the Golkar Party to be able to run as a vice presidential candidate. However, regarding how to do so, there has been no decision yet," continued Puan.

Therefore, continued Puan, until now Gibran is still a campaigner for the victory of Ganjar-Mahfud in the 2024 presidential election.

Furthermore, Puan said that in facing political contests, all coalition parties, cadres, and sympathizers must maintain solidarity and solidarity.

"I'm not aiming at this to anyone; but before the election, my friend could be an opponent or an opponent to become a friend," he explained.

Previously, Gibran Rakabuming Raka received a decree (SK) recommendation as a candidate (cawapres) from the Golkar Party at the 2nd National Leadership Meeting (Rapimnas) of the Golkar Party at the Golkar DPP Office, Jakarta, Saturday.

The Golkar Party Rapimnas determined that the party "wanted" to carry and support Prabowo Subianto as a presidential candidate (candidate) for the period 2024-2029. Second, the Golkar Party carries and supports Gibran Rakabuming Raka as a candidate for the 2024-2029 period.
