Police Arrest Woman From Semarang Who Dumped Baby At Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport

DENPASAR Criminal Investigation Unit (Satreskrim) Polres I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Area revealed that the perpetrators of the disposal of the orok/babil at the Drop Zone2 Terminal Departure Domestic I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali.

Kasatreskrim Polres Airport Area I Gusti Ngurah Rai Iptu Rionson Ritonga said the perpetrator with the initials ZDL (28) threw the baby away on Sunday (15/10) and was arrested in Semarang, Central Java, Thursday afternoon (19/10).

Investigators are still investigating the motive of the perpetrators for throwing the orok away. The arrest of the perpetrators of ZDL (28), a woman from East Semarang, Semarang City, was thanks to the collaboration between the ranks of the Jatanras Sub-Directorate of the Central Java Police and the Satreskrim of the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Area Police.

Rionson explained that since the discovery of the baby on Sunday (15/10), his party together with Sub-Directorate 3 Jatanras Ditreskrimum Polda Bali immediately conducted an investigation and pursued the perpetrators.

"In addition, we are also coordinating and collaborating with Avsec Angkasa Pura I officers to check via CCTV at the crime scene (TKP) and at other locations at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport to detect the perpetrators," said Rionson, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, October 21.

From the inspection of the surveillance camera, it was observed the characteristics of the person suspected of being the perpetrator of throwing the baby's orok. Armed with this data, the team gave chase until the perpetrator's whereabouts were detected in Semarang, Central Java.

"Without wasting time, we immediately flew to Semarang. The perpetrator, who is also the biological mother of the baby's orok, was finally secured at his house," he said.

Meanwhile, General Manager (GM) Angkasa Pura I Handy Heryudhitiawan appreciated the ranks of the Satreskrim Polres Ngurah Rai for the arrest of the perpetrator of the incident which had shocked Ngurah Rai Airport.

"We express our appreciation for the efforts of all parties involved to reveal this incident effectively and efficiently in the not long term," said Handy.
