JAKARTA The fire incident that occurred on Jalan Kayu Jati V Number 42, Rawamangun, Pulogadung, East Jakarta on Thursday 19 October, early in the morning was caused by burning mosquito medicine. A total of 20 houses were burned to the ground.

Head of the Operational Section of the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-dept. The village head of Rawamangun, Heri Kurniawan, added that for the time being the victims or survivors of the fire were accommodated in the At Taqwa Mosque yard which was not far from the scene. He said that he had coordinated with the East Jakarta Social Service Sub-dept. to prepare evacuation tents and ready-to-eat food assistance for the victims. "The evacuation signs will be built at Jalan Kayu Jati V RW 04. For ready-to-eat food assistance and other assistance, they have also been coordinated," he said.
