GORONTALO - Police arrested a man with the initials FM (33), a resident of Donggala Village, Hulonthalangang District, Gorontalo City, related to a case of drug abuse of methamphetamine.

The head of the Gorontalo City Police, Police Commissioner Ade Permana, said that from FN, a pack of cigarettes containing 10 small plastics was suspected of being methamphetamine.

"Based on the data and information submitted by FM, it turns out that he had already served the same sentence in 2018," he said in Gorontalo, Tuesday, October 17, which was confiscated by Antara.

The arrest of this narcotics recidivist through surveillance was then carried out raids on the Jalan Gunung Soputan area, Siendeng Village, Gorontalo on Tuesday, October 10.

From the results of the search, the police chief said the police secured a pack of cigarettes containing 10 small plastic methamphetamine, as well as an empty plastic kip and two tissues.

He said FM admitted that the methamphetamine was for personal consumption. According to his confession, the methamphetamine was obtained from a neighboring area, namely Central Sulawesi Province.

"We have examined the person concerned, including laboratory results to ensure that this is really a type of methamphetamine narcotics," he said.

Currently, FM has been officially named a suspect and will be subject to Article 112 paragraph 1, Subsidiary to Law Number 35 of 2009, concerning narcotics, with a minimum penalty of 4 years and a maximum of 12 years and a fine of at least Rp800 million and a maximum of Rp8 billion.

"Then the Subsidiary of Article 127 paragraph 1 Letter A of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics carries a maximum imprisonment of 4 years," he said.
