JAKARTA - Head of Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital, Albertus Budi Sulistya, confirmed that there would be no fraud in the health test for the presidential and vice presidential candidates for the 2024 General Election. Health tests were carried out at the RSPAD after registration was carried out at the KPU.

"Our spirit is professionalism, the second is independence, the third is trustworthy. That principle is what we maintain, so there will be no fraud," said Budi Sulistya after attending a closed meeting at the KPU Building, Jakarta, Tuesday, October 17, which was confiscated by Antara.

According to him, the mandate given by the KPU to carry out health tests on prospective presidential and vice presidential candidates is not the first time. So, said Budi, Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital already has strong enough capital to ensure its implementation runs well.

"We also have experience four times as a place to examine future presidential and vice presidential candidates and this is our model to prepare for the better," he added.

Budi revealed that in principle the presidential and vice presidential candidates who were declared healthy were physically, mentally, and also free from drugs.

"Those three things are big icons of this health check itself," he said.

On Monday, October 16, the KPU officially appointed the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital as a health test place for prospective participants in the 2024 presidential election.

The health check-up will take place at the Gatot Soebroto Army Hospital the day after the registration file for the candidate pair is declared complete by the KPU.

Registration for the presidential and vice presidential candidates for the 2024 presidential election will take place on 19-25 October 2023 at the KPU Office.

As regulated in Law Number 7 of 2017 concerning General Elections (UU Pemilu), pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates are proposed by political parties or coalitions of political parties participating in the election who meet the requirements for obtaining seats of at least 20 percent of the total number of seats in the DPR or obtaining 25 percent of valid votes nationally in the previous election for members of the DPR.

Currently, there are 575 seats in parliament so that the pairs of presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2024 presidential election must have at least 115 seats in the DPR RI. It could also be that the candidate pairs are promoted by political parties or a combination of political parties participating in the 2019 Election with a total valid vote acquisition of at least 34,992,703 votes.
