Raid Nightclubs In Garut, Police Confiscate Hundreds Of Bottles Of Alcohol

Garut Resort Police together with joint officers from the TNI and Garut Satpol PP confiscated hundreds of bottles of liquor from various brands from urban entertainment areas of Garut Regency, West Java, for violating local regulations on the prohibition of the circulation of liquor. "We managed to secure hundreds of bottles of alcohol (of liquor) with a joint team at entertainment venues," said Head of the Garut Police Samapta Unit Iptu Masrokan, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 16. He said Garut Police ranks with the TNI, and Garut Satpol PP carried out operations to eradicate the circulation of liquor in the Garut region. In the operation carried out on Saturday and Sunday night, he said, the targets were all entertainment venues in the Garut urban area, and as a result, there were liquor that was actually prohibited from being sold in Garut. "The results of 285 bottles of various types at entertainment venues because last night we focused on entertainment venues," he said. He conveyed the joint operation in order to maintain public order and comfort, including eradicating the circulation of liquor that so far the drink has triggered security disturbances. The operation, he said, another goal was in order to enforce local regulations related to the operating hours of entertainment venues which were limited to 23.00 WIB. "The operating hours of entertainment venues are limited, including no liquor, including no liquor," he said. He conveyed that the operation of liquor cultivation will continue to be carried out, as well as raiding other places that were allegedly selling liquor.

All the liquor, said Masrokan, was confiscated to be used as evidence, which was then destroyed. "For this time, those who have liquor are given a warning, a warning, if they are still selling, there will be a tipiring sanction," he said.
