OIKN Targets Electric Infrastructure And Telecommunications To Be Completed In 2024

The Nusantara Capital Authority (OIKN) targets the electricity and telecommunications infrastructure project in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) of the State Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago to be completed in July 2024. "All of these infrastructures are targeted for completion in July 2024, to ensure the smooth transfer of the capital city from Jakarta to IKN," said Deputy for Facilities and Infrastructure of OIKN Silvia Halim to ANTARA in Jakarta, Tuesday, October 10. Silvia said the electricity and gas infrastructure project was carried out by PT PLN and PT Pertamina as well as telecommunications such as fiber optics and 5G networks at KIPP IKN in the process by OIKN and the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo). This also includes the provision of mass public transportation services in the form of rapid transit buses, bus stops, park n rides, and depots that are currently in process. The development of IKN Nusantara is an effort by the government to carry inclusive and equitable economic development that seeks new economic growth, so that it does not only rely on the island of Java. IKN is a form of mainstreaming the symbols of national identity, green economy, green energy, smart transportation, and efficient and effective governance as a major transformation achievement of the Indonesian nation. To make this happen, the central government is currently preparing a complete urban ecosystem, carrying the three main concepts of Forest City, sponge City, and Smart City, where office buildings, presidential palaces, moving ASN residences, road access, commercial areas, parks, and other supporting facilities are targeted for completion before August 2024 through APBN funding and implemented by the Ministry of PUPR.

The three concepts were then lowered into eight key performance indicators (KPI) which serve as guidelines in every development carried out at IKN. The eight KPIs are designs aligned with nature, Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, connected, active and easily accessible, low carbon emissions, circular and resilient, safe and affordable, comfortable and efficient through technology, and economic opportunities for all.
