IPW Calls Kombes Irwan Anwar Who Witness Allegations Of Extortion Close To Firli Bahuri And SYL

JAKARTA - Indonesia Police Watch (IPW) received information about Kombes Irwan Anwar in the alleged extortion case carried out by the leadership of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). IPW Chairman Sugeng Teguh Santoto said that the Semarang Police Chief actually just wanted to help communicate between SYL and Firli (KPK Chairman). Kombes Irwan Anwar was originally questioned by investigators from the Corruption Sub-Directorate of the Metro Jaya Police Directorate. The examination took place when the handling of the alleged extortion case carried out by the KPK leadership was still at the investigation stage. According to Sugeng, Kombes Irwan Anwar has an important role in the alleged extortion case because it is quite close to the figures of Firli and SYL. His closeness with Firli Bahuri was because he had been his subordinate when the KPK chairman was still the NTB Police Chief. Meanwhile, the close relationship with Syahrul Yasin Limpo is because his wife, Andi Tenri Gusti Hanum Utari Natassa, is the nephew of the former Minister of Agriculture. "If I hear from the sources I got because he knew Firli as his supervisor at the NTB Regional Police when Firli was the Kapolda. And also he is SYL's son-in-law," he told VOI, Monday, October 9. Meanwhile, regarding the flow of funds, Sugeng said that Kombes Irwan only wanted to convey the issue of giving honorariums from SYL to Firli Bahuri. The wage was because the chairman of the KPK had been a resource person for an event. "Indeed, there is a flow of funds, but the first one is actually related to the honorarium that SYL wants to give to Firli. Honor is a resource person," said Sugeng. Polda Metro Jaya will again examine Kombes Irwan Anwar regarding the alleged extortion case committed by the KPK leadership against Syahrul Yasin Limpo or SYL which has now gone up to the investigation stage. However, it has not been stated when Kombes Irwan Anwar will be questioned. It was only emphasized that the re-examination of the Semarang Police Chief was carried out as the status of the case was increased to the investigation stage.

"There will be an agenda for summoning the person concerned to be questioned as a witness," said Director of Special Criminal Investigation at the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak.
