Seller Of 1.34 Grams Of Methamphetamine In Medan Sued 9 Years In Prison

The Belawan District Attorney's Public Prosecutor (JPU) charged the defendant Fatizah alias Teje from Medan Deli District, Medan City, North Sumatra, with a sentence of nine years in prison in a case of selling 1.34 grams of methamphetamine.

"Asking the panel of judges to sentence them to nine years in prison, a fine of Rp. 1 billion, subsidiary to one year in prison," said Public Prosecutor of the Belawan Prosecutor's Office, Lorita Karyanda Pane, at the Medan District Court, North Sumatra, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, October 9.

Based on the facts of the trial, Lorita said that the defendant Fatizah was considered to have fulfilled the criminal element of Article 114 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics.

The essence of the article is, without rights or against the law, offering to sell, sell, buy, accept, become intermediaries in buying and selling, exchanging or delivering class I narcotics committed by the defendant weighing 1.34 grams of methamphetamine.

"The aggravating thing is that the defendant does not support the government's program in eradicating drugs, while the mitigating thing is that the defendant regrets his actions," said Lorita.

After the Prosecutor's Office of Belawan read out the memorandum of demand, the panel of judges chaired by Ulina Marbun continued the trial with a memorandum of defense read out by the defendant's legal adviser.

In the indictment revealed on June 27, 2023, Belawan Harbor Police personnel received information that on Jalan Mangaan I Lorong Tengah Lingkungan XI, Medan Deli District, Medan City, there was the circulation of methamphetamine.

After that, police officers conducted an investigation, then raided the location, by finding plastic clips containing methamphetamine, Rp267 thousand in cash and others.

According to the perpetrator's confession, Fatizah stated that the evidence was obtained from Nando (still on the DPO/wanted list) to be resold.
