BENGKULU - Sub-Directorate III of the Directorate of Drug Investigation (Ditresnarkoba) of the Bengkulu Regional Police (Polda) arrested a former member of the National Police, namely DE (35) for selling marijuana.

The perpetrator is a resident of Lubuk Salung Village, Argamakmur City District, North Bengkulu Regency.

"The perpetrator was arrested by Sub-Directorate III of the Narcotics Directorate of the Bengkulu Police on October 5, 2023 for selling narcotics," said Deputy Director of Drugs at the Bengkulu Police AKBP Tonny Kurniawan as reported by ANTARA, Monday, October 9.

The DE perpetrator was fired as a member of the National Police while still on duty in North Bengkulu Regency in 2021 with the status of Disrespectful Dismissal (PTDH), for the case of desertion for leaving his duties.

The perpetrator was arrested while at his home in the District of Arga Makmur City, North Bengkulu Regency.

From the arrest, the police confiscated evidence in the form of a small package of marijuana wrapped in clear plastic and a large package of marijuana stored in a shoe box.

"The police also managed to find a small package of marijuana and two packages of methamphetamine stored in a hair oil box," he said.

Apart from drugs, members also confiscated other evidence such as digital scales and cellphones belonging to the perpetrators.

For his actions, the perpetrator is threatened with two articles, namely 114 paragraph (1) of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics in conjunction with Article 112 paragraph (1) of the Narcotics Law.
