NTB Police Prepare 66 Mandalika MotoGP Security Posts

The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Regional Police have prepared 66 security and isolation posts starting from the arrival point of spectators on Lombok Island to around the Mandalika Circuit area, the location of the 2023 MotoGP event.

"Starting from the port, airport, location for picking up spectators, we have prepared a vehicle route to the circuit, it consists of a sealing and security post," said Head of the NTB Police Operations Bureau Kombes Abu Bakar Tertusi in Mataram as reported by ANTARA, Monday, October 9.

In his notes, 66 posts consist of 38 isolation posts and 28 security posts. At this post, all security and public safety needs have been prepared, including medical handling, traffic accidents, and providing information related to the MotoGP event.

There are also personnel with mobilization tasks. They were deployed in the spectator stands. The NTB Police Chief, he said, had ordered these personnel to anticipate things that could disrupt the comfort and security of the audience.

"So we have mapped a number of potential disturbances and anticipatory methods," he said.

In addition to placing posts and deploying personnel in spectator stands, there are also placements of police personnel with special expertise, namely snipers.

"We still prepare a special team (operative shooters) like last year's event. So all crowded points, there are members (Polri) who carry out security," he said.
