Vice President Attends Groundbreaking Of Andi Nurhadi Mosque In Makassar

MAKASSAR - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin was present at the groundbreaking agenda for the construction of the Hj Mosque. Andi Nurhadi in Makassar, South Sulawesi.

"The history of Islam records that the first thing that the Prophet SAW did when he moved and arrived in the city of Medina was to build a mosque. The vice president said the mosque is not only a place of worship, but also a platform to facilitate consultation, organize education and studies, and develop economic empowerment and other community activities.

According to the Vice President, the presence of mosques is also very strategic as a means of building the character of the young Muslim generation who are Qurani and have Islamic, national and Indonesian character.

"The mosque should also be the center of a new civilization that brings the widest possible benefits to the people," he said.

Ma'ruf hopes that the function of the Hj mosque. Andi Nurhadi can be carried out as well as possible, even being the center of civilization at the national level, but also abroad.

The mosque with an investment value of IDR 500 billion with a capacity of around 20 thousand worshipers was also inspired by the Jakarta Istiqlal Mosque complete with the Plaza MSME facility.

In the courtyard there is a VIP room as a banquet room along with the provision of hundreds of places for ablu and 30 toilets.

On the second floor, there is a congregational prayer room for men with a capacity of 10 thousand. Meanwhile, female worshipers are placed on the second floor with a capacity of 10 thousand worshipers.

It is hoped that the mosque will not only function as a place of worship, but also as a center for the development of Islamic civilization in Eastern Indonesia.

The name Hj. Andi Nurhadi was taken from the name of the biological mother of the founder of the mosque, Andi Amran Sulaiman (AAS), who was previously the Minister of Agriculture in the Working Cabinet for the period 27 October 2014 to 23 October 2019.
