Bandung City Government Holds Istisqa Prayer With ASN

BANDUNG - The Bandung Province West Java City Government (Pemkot) held an Istisqa Prayer with dozens of state civil servants (ASN) at the Bandung City Hall Plaza yard, to ask Allah SWT for rain after a long dry season hit the area.

"We ask for forgiveness and ask God, the dry season is now quite long and we feel a lot of suffering felt," said Bandung City Regional Secretary Ema Sumarna, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, October 9.

With the congregational prayers, it is hoped that the rain prayer can be granted by Allah SWT, so that it can stop drought due to the long dry season.

"Especially from us, the government must pay more attention to what are the needs of the community so that they can be met," he said.

Ema said the activity was an effort by the Bandung City Government to ask for rain. Because, he said, the city of Bandung had difficulty getting supplies of water to drink or take a bath because the condition of well water and PDAM was very minimal.

"How do we use rainwater to provide additional support for the needs of drinking water which is a necessity for all of us," he said.

He also invited all Muslims in his area to jointly carry out the Istisqa Prayer in order to try to ask for rain.

"Hopefully, even if it is done at the regional level, I think it will be better, it will also be called an effort, and that effort is our obligation," he said.
