JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo answered questions about the proposal for the leadership of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) to be deactivated first in the midst of the alleged extortion case carried out by the KPK leadership in the Syahrul Yasin Limpo case.

"I don't know the details of the problem yet. I haven't received detailed information because the problem is still confusing like this; and if I comment, someone will say I'm intervening later," Jokowi said at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, October 7.

Jokowi admitted that he was still looking for information regarding this matter. However, he stressed that the case is a matter of law enforcement.

"Don't let me comment earlier, someone conveyed (I intervened). I was waiting for detailed information about this incident and in fact it is the authority, both in the police, both in the KPK, both in the prosecutor's office," Jokowi.

Previously reported, the Directorate of Special Criminal Investigation (Ditreskrimsus) of the Metro Jaya Police has raised the case of alleged extortion by the KPK leadership against the Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) from the investigation stage to investigation.

Dirreskrimsus Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Ade Safri Simanjuntak said the police had conducted a case title on Friday (6/10) in the interest of increasing the status of the investigation to the investigation stage in the alleged crime.
