Menparekraf: Cultural Aspects For Outperforming Tourism Visits In Indonesia

BADUNG - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said the cultural aspect outperforms tourist attraction in Indonesia from abroad and domestic tourists.

"From the data we have obtained, it turns out that the tourist attraction in 2023 is supported by three choices, the first is the advantage and attraction of local culture," Sandiaga said when closing the Bali Poltekpar Job Fair, in Badung, Friday, October 6.

In addition, the attractiveness of the Nusantara culinary and green tourism is also an important factor for domestic tourism attraction.

"The attractive power of culinary tourism, this data reaches more than 40 percent. Tourists choose a destination because of their culinary tourism. The third is the sustainable aspect or green tourism," he said.

Sandiaga instructed the Poltekpar Culinary Arts Study Program in Indonesia to include the book Mustikarasa by Soekarno as an additional reference to enrich culinary delights in tourism business places.

The book consists of 1,200 pages containing Nusantara food recipes that fully use plant and animal ingredients sourced from within the country.

He believes that local foods owned by the Indonesian people have their own attractiveness for foreign tourists, especially in leading destinations.

He stated that tourist visits in 2023 that have been targeted by the government can be achieved and can even exceed the target.

"As of September 2023, the data we have is that this year's target we will exceed 15-20 percent of tourists," he said.

Meanwhile, domestic tourists are still being fought for to be able to achieve the target by organizing various events in various regions.

"Therefore, we have to encourage many events to move in this archipelago tourism, and in terms of employment, God willing, the work targets will be achieved, because it looks like hotels have been opened," said Sandiaga Uno.
