Ministry Of PUPR Improves Road Infrastructure Supporting KSPN Lake Toba

The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Regional Infrastructure Development Agency (BPIW) is improving the non-toll road connectivity infrastructure in order to increase connectivity access to the National Tourism Strategic Area or KSPN Lake Toba, North Sumatra.

"Some have been upgraded by the Ministry of PUPR for this access, first there is a Parapat ring road which aims to reduce traffic density so that tourism and logistics transportation modes can be separated or not mixed," said the Sub-Coordinator of the PUPR Infrastructure Development Center Region I BPIW Francisco Manalu in Tebing Tinggi City, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 4.

The Ministry of PUPR also built the Bige Bypass road which can be used as a roadpass for logistics transportation.

This 9.8 km roadpass is an alternative route for tourists to and/or to Silangit - Parapat so that they do not need to enter the city of Balige, so that traffic can be smoother, the condition of the inner city road is more durable, not crossing large vehicles, while at the same time reducing the number of accidents.

In addition, the roadpassini supports connectivity to several Super Priority Tourism Destinations (DPSP) of Lake Toba.

"We have also built the Aek Natolu Ajibata road to unravel traffic on the Parapat road and alternative routes, supporting the authoritative area of the Lake Toba Authority (BPODT), namely Kaldera Toba," said Francisco.

The Ministry of PUPR has also increased the availability of road access from airports to major tourist areas around Lake Toba in order to make tourists comfortable and safe.

For information, in order to support the development of Lake Toba tourism in North Sumatra Province which has been designated as a National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN), the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) improves the quality of roads and access to Lake Toba.

The availability of road infrastructure in a steady condition will make it easier for tourists to reach tourist sites around Lake Toba.
