Ministry Of Home Affairs Appoints Deputy Regent Of Karawang As Acting Regent

KARAWANG - The Ministry of Home Affairs officially appointed the Deputy Regent of Karawang, West Java, Aep Syaepuloh as the executor of the Karawang Regent's duties following Cellica Nurrachadiana's resignation from the regent's position because she became a candidate for the DPR.

Acting Chairman of the Karawang General Election Commission, Ikhsan Indra Putra, submitted a letter requesting the resignation of Cellica Nurrachadiana from the position of Regent of Karawang that has been approved by the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).

Along with this, Cellica's requirements to run as a candidate for the legislature of the DPR have been met.

"The Indonesian KPU has received a copy of Cellica Nurrachadiana's resignation letter from the Minister of Home Affairs. We have checked, that's true," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, October 4.

Meanwhile, in the Decree of the Minister of Home Affairs Number 100.2.1.3-3984 of 2023 concerning the ratification of the dismissal of the Karawang Regent, it was also stated that the appointment of Deputy Regent of Karawang Aep Syaepuloh as acting Regent of Karawang.

The Decree of the Minister of Home Affairs signed by the Head of the General Bureau of the Secretariat General of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Evan Nur Setya Hadi, was set on September 25, 2023.

The Decree of the Minister of Home Affairs has been in effect since the determination of the permanent candidate list (DCT) in the legislative general election stage, namely on November 4, 2023.

Cellica Nurrachadiana previously said she was determined to resign from her position in order to run to nominate DPR members in the 2024 General Election.

Cellica also admitted that the decision to run as a legislative candidate was unanimous. This is in accordance with the results of the istikharah and discussions with teachers and scholars.
