AGO Handles Alleged Fictitious Projects Of PT Sigma Cipta Caraka

JAKARTA - Investigators of the Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) at the Attorney General's Office are investigating allegations of corruption in the form of engineering a fictitious project at PT Sigma Cipta Caraka (SCC) or Telkomsigma which occurred in the 2017 to 2018 period.

Director of Investigation at the Special Prosecutor's Office of the Attorney General's Office, Kuntadi, in Jakarta, Tuesday, said that his party had raised the status of handling cases from investigation to investigation stage.

"The position of this case is where it is suspected that PT SC has carried out business activities outside of its core business, which is to provide working capital financing to certain companies," Kuntadi said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 3.

He explained that the provision of working capital was by making fictitious projects, including financing to PT PDS in the form of data storage, network performance and diagnostic or SEIM projects.

Then the server and storage system supply project with PT PNB as well as a network and generator supply project with PT KMU.

The unlawful act, said Kuntadi, is suspected of having cost the state finances more than Rp318 billion.

"As a result of this act, it is suspected that it has caused state financial losses of approximately Rp. 318 billion," said Kuntadi.

Meanwhile, in investigating this case there has been no determination of a suspect. New investigators have raised the status of handling cases to the investigation stage.

The alleged corruption case of fictitious project engineering at PT Sigma Cipta Caraka (SCC) is one of three new cases being investigated by Jampidsus, the Attorney General's Office.

Another case, namely the alleged abuse of sugar import authority at the Ministry of Trade and the alleged corruption in the Beista-Langsa railway construction project (KA), North Sumatra, is worth IDR 1.3 trillion.
