PSI Sends Letter, PDIP: Already Received Will Be Submitted To Megawati

The PDI-P (PDIP) said it had received a letter sent by the Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI). However, Megawati Soekarnoputri has not yet opened the letter as general chairman.

"We have received the letter and also I have been contacted by the Secretary General (PSI) of Mr. King Antoni because the letter was addressed to the Chairperson of the PDI-P, of course, we will convey it to Mrs. Megawati Soekarnoputri," PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto told reporters at the PDIP DPP office, Menteng, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, October 3.

"Currently he is still in Malaysia and met Mahatir Mohamad and also Mr. Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim," he continued.

It is not clear what the letter contains, said Hasto. However, if it is related to political cooperation, it will certainly be discussed further after Megawati returns from her visit abroad.

"Yes, it was conveyed first (the letter, ed) to the General Chair, right, (the letter, ed) to the Dear Chairperson of the PDI-P, Prof. Dr. Megawati Soekarnoputri, I conveyed it to her," he said.

Meanwhile, PSI Secretary General Raja Juli Antoni said the letter asking for a meeting between his party and PDIP had been received by Hasto. The meeting was planned after Megawati returned from Malaysia.

"So maybe God willing, we will stay in touch with Megawati or whoever is positioned by PDIP to establish communication, hopefully with communication everything will be useful for us," Juli told Grha Oikoumene Building, Senen, Central Jakarta.
