Sad, This Bekasi Regency Regency Resident Is Looking For Clean Water To The Foot Of South Karawang Mountain

JAKARTA - A resident of Cibitung, Bekasi Regency, West Java, is looking for clean water to the foot of the South Karawang area, Karawang Regency, following the scarcity of clean water in his area.

"Clean water in empty houses, this dry season is drought," said Sudirja, a resident of Cibitung, who is looking for clean water around the foot of Mount Cipaga Karawang, quoted from Antara, Saturday, September 30.

He came to the mountainous area in the southern Karawang region to find clean water, carrying about 16 gallons to fill.

According to him, clean water around his house is difficult, even having to buy at a price of Rp. 7 thousand to Rp. 10 thousand per gallon.

The water quality is also different. So if this water (Cipaga) is stored at home for two months, it is not cloudy, it is not covered. Meanwhile, if clean water buys from refills, it will be stored immediately and changes in quality," he said.

He said that drought resulted in scarcity of clean water not only occurring in his area. Several other areas in the Bekasi Regency also experience drought.

Meanwhile, while filling an empty gallon with water from the spring of Mount Cipaga flowing near the highway, Sudirja was met by Gerindra Party politician, Dedi Mulyadi, who happened to be crossing the area.

On that occasion, Dedi Mulyadi said that the phenomenon he found should be a concern for the government. This means that the natural wealth of Mount Cipaga should not be damaged by the existence of massive mines.

Dedi requested that there be no more mining in the Mount Sanggabuana area, one of which includes Mount Cisaga in Karawang.

The drought in the long dry season, as a result of the El Nino phenomenon, does not only occur in the Bekasi Regency area. Drought also hit four sub-districts in the Karawang area.

In accordance with data from the Karawang Regional Disaster Management Agency, the four sub-districts hit by the drought are Ciampel, Telukjambe Barat, Tegalwaru and Pangkalan sub-districts.

In the four sub-districts, there are more than 11,000 residents affected by drought.
