Online Media Journalist Killed In Lakalantas In Maros

MAROS - A tragic traffic accident happened to a female journalist in South Sulawesi, Nur Afni Aripin (23). The victim died after falling from his motorbike and was run over in front of the gates of the Royal Sentraland Housing complex, Jalan Poros Pammanjengan, Moncongloe, Maros Regency, South Sulawesi.

Kapolsek Moncongloe, Iptu Suhardi said, the accident occurred on Monday, September 25, at around 16.00 WITA, when the victim was driving from the Sentraland housing complex to the BTP Makassar housing complex.

"At the same time, the red truck with the number plate DD 9789 LN drove fast from the direction of BTP," he explained, Tuesday, September 26.

He said that the truck was speeding without carrying a load. The truck driver immediately stepped on the gas after crossing the victim, and residents and several other motorists chased the truck to the Moncongloe gas station. As a result of severe head injuries, the victim died instantly at the scene.

"The truck was chased by residents to the Moncongloe gas station. Afraid of being hit, didn't want to stop," he explained.

The police chief also said that the victim had been taken to the local health center, but the victim was declared dead at the location due to severe head injuries.

For legal action, the Traffic Police immediately detained the truck and its driver. The victim's body has been taken to his hometown in Pinrang Regency, South Sulawesi, and has been buried.
