Cartenz Peace Task Force Says 3 KKB Members Have Been Arrested In Papua

PAPUA - The Damai Operations Task Force stated that in the past month it had arrested three members of the armed criminal group (KKB) in various regions in Papua. "In addition to arresting three people, one KKB member was shot dead," said Head of the Cartenz Peace Task Force, Kombes Faizal Ramadhan, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, September 26. The three KKB members who were arrested had their respective roles, namely as suppliers of ammunition and weapons and suppliers of foodstuffs to the KKB group in Nduga, Papua Mountains. Meanwhile, a member of the KKB who was shot in the Bintang Mountains for carrying out an armed terror act. It was explained that the KKB member who was arrested, namely YT, worked as the Asmat-Nduga motorist of the speed boat and was arrested after receiving a shipment of money from Egianus Kogoya to buy groceries. YT was arrested on September 7 in Agats, South Papua, then on September 19 at Nabire was arrested by ET alias LD alias ALTAU (27), a member of the Ndugama KKB led by Egianus Kogoya who was a supplier of firearms and ammunition. ET has been on the wanted list since 2022 after being involved in the massacre of 11 civilians in Nogolait Village in July 2022. Another KKB member who was arrested was AK alias Artist (20) who was the perpetrator of the burning of PT. Unggul school and base camp in Ilaga, Puncak Regency, Central Papua. The KKB member who was shot dead was in the Bintang Mountains Regency, Ricky Sasaka, who was shot on Tuesday (19/9) because of his action to shoot a passing civilian plane.

"Law enforcement will be carried out on KKB members who often carry out attacks and shootings at security forces," said Head of the Cartenz Peace Task Force, Kombes Faizal Ramadhani.
