JAKARTA - A truck carrying sickles was reported to have sunk in the Krueng Woyla watershed (DAS) in the Geudong Village area, Sungai Mas District, West Aceh Regency. "There were no casualties in this disaster, but one truck sank allegedly after falling into the river sand dugout," said Sungai Mas sub-district head, West Aceh Regency, Zulkifli, confirmed by ANTARA, Sunday night from Meulaboh. Accompanied by disaster data collection officer, Khairan, sub-district head of Zulkifli said the incident occurred on Saturday evening before sunset, when a truck allegedly wanted to transport limestone from the river. Allegedly while crossing the river, the truck whose driver's identity was not yet known fell into the dug hole. At the same time, the river water suddenly started to rise so the driver and kernet were forced to leave the truck inside the river to save themselves. The truck evacuation effort was then carried out on Sunday afternoon, after a heavy equipment type excavator was deployed to the scene to pull a truck that sank from the river. "Currently the evacuation has been successful, we are still looking for the identity of the truck driver and the kernet," said Zulkifli.
