Haven't Found A Sure Solution, Acting Walkot Bandung Proposes Extending The Waste Emergency Period

JABAR - Acting Mayor (Pj) of Bandung, Bambang Tirtoyuliono, stated that his party would apply for a period of extension of the waste emergency in Bandung City.

"We have a meeting and formulate a solution to address it. The conclusion is that we are trying to propose to extend the emergency period," said Bambang when met at City Hall, Bandung, West Java, Friday.

Bambang said that during the extension of the waste emergency, his party would try to plan long-term waste management so that later the waste accumulation incident in various temporary disposal sites (TPS) in Bandung City would not be repeated.

"We want to intensify not only the short-term handling, but also how to formulate medium and long-term handling," he said.

Regarding the period for determining the status of the waste emergency extension, his party will coordinate first with the ranks of the West Java Provincial Government (Pemprov).

"We are communicating this with the provincial government, because whatever the provincial government also determines whether it can be extended or not," said Bambang.

Until now, he said, the situation in waste management in the city of Bandung has not been handled optimally and it is necessary to extend the waste emergency period.

"But Bandung City, with this situation where garbage cannot be handled, we must propose it to be extended," he said.
