Jokowi Calls The Construction Of The Presidential Palace In IKN According To Target

President Joko Widodo said the construction of the Presidential Palace in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) was still running according to the target set by the government. "I see the schedule and target, I think it is still on target," said Jokowi in a statement received in Jakarta after the IKN review, Antara, Friday, September 21. President Jokowi emphasized that the budget for the development of a number of basic infrastructures in IKN did not experience any problems. "Especially for the palace, ministry, for basic infrastructure there is no problem," said Jokowi. The President said that the government would continue to encourage the development of a number of infrastructures from the private sector and the business world in the country. Starting from the construction of universities, hospitals, shopping centers, to places to eat. "We will encourage everything so that a crowd appears, which of course will provide life to the city of the archipelago," said the President. On this occasion, Jokowi planted a banyan tree which has the Latin name Ficus Benjamina in the IKN Presidential Palace area. The President said the tree planted had the meaning of splendor. "Especially for these two twin banyans, I think this is indeed a symbol of splendor," said the President. The President hopes that other plants will be planted soon after it rains in the IKN area, starting from grass for the August 17 ceremony, Kalimantan endemic plants, to flowers specially designed for the IKN Presidential Palace. "This will all be green and specifically for the flower color palace, it will be red and white. So the planned design is carried out in very detail," explained the President. The President said that the Presidential Palace field at IKN has twice as much land as the Palace in Jakarta. In fact, the field capacity can accommodate up to 8 thousand people for the August 17, 2024 ceremony. "This will be green, everything can be used for ceremonies of approximately 8 thousand people, approximately 2 times the palace (Jakarta)," said the President.

Also accompanying the President in the review were Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of State Secretary Pratikno, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, Minister of Investment/Head of the Investment Coordinating Board Bahlil Lahadalia, Head of the IKN Authority Bambang Susantono, Deputy Head of the IKN Authority Donny Rahajoe, and East Kalimantan Governor Isran Noor.
