Deputy Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Alexander Marwata emphasized that there was no meeting between the head of the anti-corruption commission and the alleged bribery suspect in case management at the Supreme Court (MA). Instead, he suspects that this issue was raised to disrupt the internal work atmosphere.

"The meeting was where I didn't know but anyway, information like this came from within. It means that there are KPK employees who are trying to damage the working atmosphere at the KPK," Alexander told reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Thursday, September 21.

"I said it like that. There are KPK employees who deliberately damaged the work situation at the KPK. It caused chaos," he continued.

Alexander said he would find out who the party was spreading this issue would be sought. This is because this kind of noisy situation is considered a waste of time working to eradicate corruption.

Even so, Alexander confirmed the request from a TNI officer to meet his friend who was being held at the KPK Detention Center. This incident occurred when a TNI group came to the KPK's Red and White Building after the Head of the National SAR Agency (Kabasarnas) Marshal Henri Alfiandi became a suspect.

According to him, the atmosphere of the meeting at that time was tense so that the leaders who met the TNI envoys tried to make the atmosphere more conducive. After that, the request was made by someone who took part in the group.

"I myself forgot, did..., I allow (but, ed) I emphasize, please, by looking at the situation and conditions at that time. Go ahead," he said.

"But I forgot whether I also said that I was welcome to be accepted on the 15th floor because after that I went straight home. So I emphasized that there was no leader to meet the detainees. I emphasize again, none of the leaders met or wanted to meet the suspect," said Alexander.

Rumors circulated that a prisoner in the bribery case for case management at the Supreme Court (MA) reportedly went up to the 15th floor of the KPK Red and White Building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta. This location is where the KPK leadership is based.

Responding to this news, the Head of the KPK News Section, Ali Fikri, did not deny or confirm. He only explained that the suspect's examination is usually on the 2nd floor.

"The detention sites were on the 2nd floor. That's what we know," he told reporters at the KPK's Red and White House, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta.

Ali didn't want to talk any further about the news. "This is information from friends (media, ed) themselves," said Ali.

Meanwhile, the KPK Supervisory Board confirmed reports of alleged meetings between detainees in the bribery case in case management at the Supreme Court and the KPK leadership. This report went into their hands some time ago.

"(Received the report, ed) two days ago, three days ago," said KPK Supervisory Board member Albertina Ho to reporters at the ACLC KPK Building, Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, Tuesday, September 12.

Albertina did not want to specify who the leader was meeting with the detainee. He only said the report was being studied.
