Central Java Prosecutor's Office Investigate Allegations Of Corruption At UNS

SEMARANG - The Central Java High Prosecutor's Office stated that the handling of the alleged corruption case at Sebelas Maret University (UNS) Surakarta is still in the investigation stage. "The handling of this case is still in the early stages, still gathering evidence and testing it," said Head of the Legal Information Section of the Central Java High Prosecutor's Office, Arfan Triyono, quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 20. According to him, the prosecutor has not determined whether there has been a deviation or not on the case being investigated. Until now, he continued, 26 witnesses have been questioned in the investigation. He said among the witnesses examined were two whistleblowers. In addition, he continued, the UNS Chancellor Surakarta Jamal Wiwoho has also been questioned twice. According to him, it is possible that the chancellor would still be questioned. Previously, former UNS Surakarta MWA leader Hasan Fauzi submitted evidence of alleged fraud or corruption on campus to the Mayor of Surakarta. The details of the alleged corruption amounted to Rp34.6 billion.

The budget is referred to as an application that was not approved by MWA, but is still being carried out by the campus. The alleged use that is not in accordance with its designation is suspected to occur in the period 2022 to 2023.
