Ganjar: A President Must Independently Serve the People

YOGYAKARTA - Ganjar Pranowo emphasized that he is not a puppet. If elected president, Ganjar emphasized that he would remain independent and focus on serving the people.

This was conveyed by Ganjar when he was a speaker at the Mata Najwa On Stage event at Graha Saba UGM, Tuesday, September 19. In the event which invited three 2024 presidential candidates, many critical questions were asked by students.

Among other things, a question from a student at the Indonesian Tourism Academy (API) Yogyakarta named Syarifah. Syarifah asked Ganjar whether he would become a puppet president if he won the 2024 presidential election.

"Sorry in advance if my question offends you. How do you respond to the issue of a puppet president," asked Syarifah.

This question made the audience present immediately roar. Ganjar firmly emphasized that the president must remain independent and serve the people.

"The president is the president, he carries out the full mandate of the existing constitution. Point, there is no comma," stressed Ganjar.

Ganjar emphasized that he is not anyone's puppet if he becomes president in the future.

"Because the president is a person who is sworn to implement the constitution. He has complete independence," stressed Ganjar, greeted by loud applause from thousands of students.

As is known, the three 2024 presidential candidates were invited to the Mata Najwa On State event at Graha Saba UGM, Tuesday 19 September. Ganjar attended the event and conveyed his ideas for making Indonesia a developed country.

Ganjar discussed a number of issues at the event. Among other things, regarding his future commitment to eradicating corruption, his ideas for solving health problems, education, optimizing the demographic bonus, digital economy, new renewable energy, eradicating stunting, unemployment, poverty and many other issues.
