Jakarta Residents Asked To Reprint DKI ID Cards As DKI J, PSI: Spending Budget And Troubled!

The PSI faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD rejected the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government's plan to ask Jakarta residents to reprint their identity cards (KTP) to DKI Jakarta.

This replacement is the aftermath of the transfer of the capital city to the archipelago, East Kalimantan. After no longer being the capital, there is a change in status as a Special Region for Jakarta.

Secretary of the PSI faction of the DKI Jakarta DPRD, William Aditya Sarana, views that reprinting the electronic ID cards of Jakarta residents is a waste of budget.

"There is no need to reprint because it will spend the budget. There are more than 11 million people in Jakarta, how much money is spent? This is not a priority thing to do," William said in his statement, Tuesday, September 19.

In addition, members of Commission A of the DKI Jakarta DPRD view that the replacement of e-KTP will also be a hassle for the community. Because, they have to take care of the population administration documents to the village.

"If it is reprinted, it will make it difficult for Jakarta residents to go to the village. Of course, the urban village will have difficulty even being overwhelmed in serving the flooded residents just to change the name of DKI Jakarta at the EKTP," he said.

On that basis, William suggested that the name change to DKI to DKIJ be carried out in online data, so there is no need to replace physical documents.

"I suggest that the database be changed, the physical EKTP does not need to be changed. For the new EKTP owner, it may be that the EKTP needs to be physically changed. EKTP owners are the first time to adjust Jakarta's name to DKJ," he explained.

DKI Jakarta Regional Secretary (Sekda) Joko Agus Setyono said that millions of Jakarta residents would be asked to reprint their respective identity cards (KTP) starting next year.

The status of Jakarta moving the capital city to Nusantara, East Kalimantan in 2024 will change. That is why, according to Joko, the inclusion of the DKI Jakarta province in the KTP needs to be changed to a Special Region for Jakarta (DKJ).

"Yes, that will definitely change, the Special Capital Region will become a special area for Jakarta. Of course there must be adjustments in all identities. Just reprint the ID card," said Joko.

Joko said that the DKI Provincial Government has begun to prepare a budget for changes in administrative records due to the transfer of the capital city in the preparation of the APBD for the 2024 fiscal year.

In addition, the DKI Provincial Government is also waiting for the ratification of the revision of Law Number 29 of 2007 concerning the Provincial Government of the Special Capital Region of Jakarta as the capital of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

This regulatory change, he continued, will become the basis for the stipulation of DKJ status. Now, the revision of the DKI Provincial Government Law is being discussed in the DPR.

"Later we will socialize when the law is completed, because the draft law is in the process of being resolved," said Joko.
