Museum Managers Make Sure The Fire Burns 6 Rooms At Building A Of The Indonesian National Museum

JAKARTA - Acting (Plt) Head of the Public Service Agency of Museums and Cultural Conservation (BLU MCB), Ahmad Mahendra explained, a burning building at the Indonesian National Museum occurred in Gedung A. The fire scorched as many as 6 rooms where there were replica prehistoric objects.

"There are 21 rooms that were affected by the fire in building A. In Building A, but 6 rooms were affected. 15 other rooms were not (burned). Buildings B and C were not burned," Ahmad Mahendra told VOI at the National Museum. Indonesia, Central Jakarta, Sunday, September 17.

The National Museum of Indonesia also claims to form a special team to identify museum collectibles affected by the fire.

"There are 6 rooms, there are prehistoric and some are replicas. That is what the special team is currently identifying," he said.

Ahmad admitted that his party had not yet received detailed data that any collections were affected by the fire. The reason is, currently the case has been handled by the Forensic Laboratory and the location of the fire has been installed with police lines.

"We are still waiting for the Forensic Laboratory, we are still investigating. We are currently identifying which one. Now it is in the police line, not just anyone entering and cultural heritage should not be touched carelessly," he said.

Until this news was written, Ahmad Mahendra had not been able to explain the total loss due to the fire at Building A of the Indonesian National Museum on Saturday night, September 16.

"We cannot enter yet, waiting for permission from the puslabfor. We cannot confirm which ones are still intact and so on," he said.

Previously, it was reported that the Direskrimum Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Hengki Haryadi visited the location of the fire in Block A Building, a room to show off the collection of National Museums or Elephant Museums, Jalan Medan Merdeka Barat, Gambir District, Central Jakarta on Sunday, September 17.

From VOI's observation at the location of the former National Museum fire, it was seen that a number of police officers from the ranks of the Metro Jaya Police, Central Jakarta Metro Police and Gambir Metro Police. A number of officers conducted a crime scene investigation with the Forensic Laboratory Center (Puslabfor) team.

Officers are still combing the scene of the fire in the area of the National Museum. There has been no official statement provided by the Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Hengki Haryadi at the location of the fire.

The police are seen still coordinating in the burning museum area. Meanwhile, the location around the scene of the fire has also been installed with a police line.
